The Wok Shop

This place is a SF treasure. Located in the heart of San Francisco Chinatown, the Wok Shop is the place to get your wok and just about any other cooking item you may need. It’s a dimly lit store with all kinds of goodies. I like to think of it as more of a flea market of cooking accessories than traditional store. I bet if you wanted to you could even haggle on the prices! It aint no Williams Sonoma but this place oozes character and screams San Francisco!

They have been in business for some 30 years and are family owned and operated. They’re incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and down right friendly…you may even add in adjectives like kooky and fun too!

Do you have a wok? I mean a real wok? Do yourself a favor and take the stroll up Grant, stop by and ask about the woks (or the bamboo steams or the chopsticks), they’ll sell you on one and even fill you in on how to season and care for it.  Guaranteed to be the best $20 you will ever spend!  PLUS…they ship anywhere in the country!
