2009 Piper Sonoma Pinot Noir Review

I always think of Piper Sonoma as a sparkling wine producer. Nevertheless, they produce a rather tasty and inexpensive Pinot Noir. The grapes are Sonoma grown and the Pinot Noir is delicate and lively. It is a light/medium bodied wine with a slight floral nose and a trace of black cherry and smoke. There is a decent amount of mineral notes to it that makes it quite interesting as it is dry and not very juicy. The finish is smooth as silk and not taniny (I think I just made this word up?).

A great bottle of wine for about $10.
