A Trip Down Market Street

This is one of the greatest films ever shot in/of San Francisco (sorry Bullitt and Dirty Harry). A great friend sent it to me a few years back and I thought it was really cool… but 60 Minutes just ran a piece about the recording date of the film (it is so old no one ever really knew when it was shot). It blew me away…hence the post!

Long story short…

This was shot, from the front of a cable car (starting at 8th and Market), running down Market street, 4 days before the Big Quake of 1906.

I threw in the “After” film just ’cause!
