Horseshoe Tavern Review
The Horseshoe Tavern in the Marina is a classic dive bar. I needed to break a $5 bill for bus fare so I figured I’d stop in and have a beer at 10:30 am on a Saturday morning. Go ahead…call bullshit! Nothing fancy here, no food, no drink specials, no seating…just a bar, two pool tables several tvs kicking out whatever sports action is going on. The craziest thing about it is it is smack dab in the heart of the fashion conscious trendy-ville! You would not ever have known you were in the Marina. Hell this place had an almost Zeitgeist feel too it. The one thing I did notice as I enjoyed a few beers and walked the prelims to the Kentucky Derby with the Barkeep was that several a single gentleman would rush in do a shot or slam a double and rush out. It happened three times as I sat there. I came to the realization that it was the quicky drink as his better half was engrossed in the local shops…The “ahhh, yes dear, I’ll go feed the meter…Bartender…make it a double! Stat!!!”
Solid Dive Bar…Gents, your oasis has been mapped out next time you get dragged to the Marina!
