A5A Review

This is the best steakhouse in San Francisco, hands down. Don’t let the hipster doofus reviews on Yelp scare you. This place is serious and for real. Incredible steaks (specializing in Waygu), top-notch service and a modern feel to the joint. This is not the huffy “old man” club. It is modern and warm with incredibly hip architecture.

The lobster tempura is fantastic, the iceberg lettuce with fuji apples and Point Reyes bleu is smoking, the 10 oz. Filet Mignon on the bone was incredible. Don’t be scared…pick up the bone and gnarl.  The sides are served family style. Shrooms in garlic, a trio of Au Gratin Taters (russet, sweet and blue) and Mac and Cheese with Gruyere. We washed it all down with a Joseph Phelps 2006 Cab that was silky velvet.

Dessert was “Breakfast after Dark “. Guinness soaked French Toast with Maple Syrup reduction and Blueberry Ice Cream….oh so good! oh ya and an Irish Coffee with fresh whipped cream.
