Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Cowboy Cookies

1 ½ cups of packed brown sugar

1 cup butter (that is 2 sticks…canna butter can be substituted)

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

2 cups of quick cooking oats

1 ½ cups of flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (that is half a bag)

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

*I recently discovered that if you cream the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla altogether before incorporating the dry ingredients it helps form a creamier/wetter dough consistency.

-Pre-heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, stir brown sugar and butter until blended. Stir in vanilla and egg until light and fluffy.

-Stir in oats, flour, baking soda and salt; stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

-Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.

-Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly (2 minutes); remove from cookie sheet using a spatula and unto a wire rack (if you have one).

-Let them cool before eating or throwing in a ziplock.

  1. Even though the outlook of the cookie looks bad I am sure that this taste so good. I will surely make this a great business on my friends since they intend to buy cookies than to bake their own cookies. Now I can easily sell these cookies from them Thanks for the recipe.

  2. I think the color doesn’t look so good for the kids. I think you can just add some cream cheese frostings and colored sprinkles to make it more attractive for the kids.
